FanCtrl 1.6.4 download the new12/28/2023 I'd planned on performing an upgrade test using Edubuntu Precise w/Classic (no effects) running but I encountered a lot of bugs just testing Ubuntu w/Unity upgrades so I ran out of time Let me know.Let me see if I can reproduce the borkage. They are in /var/log/dist-upgrade, and they are named history.log and main.log. I have found some logs that pertain to the upgrade. How can I (or can I) check the path that alacarte is using?.I have gnome-session-fallback installed, but I installed it after the upgrade in an attempt to address some of my issues. Is there an upgrade log that I can check to see if it was installed in Precise before the upgrade? I don't know if this will help or not, but I still haven't figured that all out and it looks like we have yet another new challenge You'll notice here that I included Challenges and Known Issues. Or maybe the path to 'alacarte' is still looking in the wrong place - that had to be changed to not interfere with the menus in the new GNOME Classic session. Or maybe the transitional package 'gnome-session-fallback' needs to be installed? For instance what is now flashback relies on 'unity-settings-daemon' and 'unity-control-center' now so maybe if the meta-package 'ubuntu-desktop' was not installed some configuration may have failed? So I need to completely setup some test installs of Precise running what was the Classic (no effects) session, then upgrade and see if I can reproduce the problem.Ī few things come to mind but it's all only speculation at this point. What's going on here?I don't know but I've seen multiple reports similar to this. These are Sundry, System Settings, Utilities, Web Applications, and Wine. I can see some menus in Main Menu that do not show up in my Applications menu. desktop files in ~/.local/share/applications being used? They have my menus as I have customized them over a number of releases of Ubuntu, and they have always been carried forward when I upgraded. I was so exasperated that I just added a comment to the original bug.ĭo you think I should try to remove and reinstall gnome-panel? And why aren't my. After spending quite a while entering a new bug, I received a timeout error when I tried to file it.
